We Have a Walker!!

Little Vincent decided to let go of mommy and daddy and walk all on his own yesterday!!
So proud of my little bruiser <3
I decided to try out cool a new little app called "Magisto" to put together a short clip of his first steps!
Unfortunately it turned out a bit blurry. I don't know if it happened during the upload or when.. I'm not too technologically advanced!
But you can totally still make out the utter cuteness of his first steps!! :)

PS: yes, I was wearing my robe.. haha.
Not that I need an excuse, but for anyone who may be concerned, I was getting ready to do my hair and makeup and put on my costume for our Halloween parties that night! ;)

Super Quick Refreshing Snack!

So, this afternoon I was busy catching up on some laundry/folding, and paper filing.. while my poor, sick lil' dude was napping off his cold.

I was in need of a quick easy lunch and was going to make a meaty and refreshing little sandwich..
But remembering we were out of bread, that wasn't going to work.. Haha
We go through ridiculous amounts of bread in our little family of 3..

Still wanting something super easy, meaty and refreshing.
I grabbed a flour tortilla and improvised something that sort of resembled sushi! Just no rice, or seafood.. It actually totally isn't like sushi at all!
But it reminded me of it anyway.. Haha

It only involves 4 ingredients!

*Flour Tortilla
*Cream Cheese
*Cucumber
*Sandwich Meat Slices

All I did was:
• Microwave a tortilla for 15 seconds to keep it soft and supple.
• Spread on Cream Cheese (light if you'd prefer). I used good ole' regular Philly.
• Shred some Cucumber and sprinkle the cucumber shreds all over. I added quite a bit to my second one because it was nice and refreshing!
• Spread about 3 pieces of sandwich meat over the cucumber. I had Black Forest Ham.
• Roll it up, and cut into cute little bite sized pieces!! :)

I can't believe how yummy and easy this was! I'll definitely be whipping them up more often!
I made a roll for my husband too, when he came home from work. He agreed it was yummy and just what he needed!

My Baby's One!

We just celebrated Vincent's first birthday on Monday!! I can't believe he's a year old already!!
He had so much fun with family and friends. And we found out he loves balloons!
He played with them, more than anything that day!! haha

I borrowed a great little cakepan from friends to make this Elmo cake. Carrot cake with buttercream icing.
I mixed Wilton's "Christmas Red" and "Red (no-taste)" icing colors to get the nice vibrant red, rather than a pinky-red.
And I used this recipe: Eggnog Cupcakes with a cream cheese eggnog frosting (no rum), to make some delicious and festive Elmo cupcakes!
It was quite fitting, as our guests were very sweet to spend their (Canadian) Thanksgiving afternoon celebrating Vincent's birthday!

As you can see, my little man loved, smashed and devoured his favorite little tv-character!! <3

Vincent really enjoyed his big day and we thank all our friends and family, near and far, who celebrated with us!
Happy one year to my amazing little bruiser!! Love you to pieces!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!!
I've had a wonderful busy fall so far!
Recently wrapped up a musical production called "Love on the Line," and now I'm excited to have some extra time to start a little mommy blogging!
My name is Denise and I'm a happy wife and new-ish mommy to my amazing little boy, Vincent!
Vincent is turning one tomorrow!! It's amazing how quickly this year went by!
Last thanksgiving he was just a newborn, and just now he sat at the dinner table with us enjoying turkey, ham, potatoes and all the works!
I've attached a picture of the simple little Thanksgiving centerpiece I put together today.
All dollar store materials, except the cloche itself! The cloche is left over from my "beauty and the beast" wedding centrepieces!

And now I'm off to decorate my son's first birthday cake :)

XO Denise
